The stream of thinking has enourmous momentum that can easily drag you along with it.Every thought pretends that it matters so much.It wants to draw your attention in completely.
Here is a new spiritual practice for you: don't take thoughts too seciously.
「世界でいちばん古くて大切なスピリチュアルの教え」が良かったので原書が読みたくなり注文しました。原書はペーパーブックで軽くて、こちらのが良いですね。日本語版は少々仰々しく見えます。本来ECKHART TOLLEさんはそんなに仰々しく語りたくないのでしょう。
この思考がattentionをdrawしたがってるというの、確かにそうだと思います。頭の墨で、よくこっちこっち、とおいでおいでしているのを私も良く感じます。それは昔憧れた人だったり夢だったり...。don't take thoughts too seciouslyというのがNew Spiritual Practiceだそうです。

この人、やはりKrishnamurtiから影響を受けているんですね。Krishnamurtiはよく、教えは素晴らしいが実践できないと言われていますが、Krishnamurtiから影響を受けて目覚めた人がいるというのは嬉しいことです。
Tao Te Ching、てなんだ、と思ったら道徳経だそうです。あ、
老子か。確かにこの人の教え、
老子的ですね。この人の言っているStillnessは、
老子の言う道なのでしょう。Lao Tzuって、
老子のことだそうです。
